What are your regular service hours?

Our regular service hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appointment availability may vary by service area and technician schedule.

Do you offer same-day service?

Same-day service may be available depending on technician availability, location, appliance type, and travel requirements. Same-day service is not guaranteed.

Inspection fees and estimates

How much is an appliance inspection in Metro Vancouver?

The standard Metro Vancouver inspection fee is $99 plus GST. For an eligible appliance repair, this amount may be applied toward the repair when the approved repair is completed by Fix Cheetah.

How much is service in the Fraser Valley or Sea-to-Sky region?

The inspection fee for the Fraser Valley and Sea-to-Sky region is generally $180 plus GST. This fee is non-reimbursable and covers inspection, diagnostics, and extended travel.

Remote, ferry-dependent, or long-distance locations may require a customized travel fee.

Does the inspection fee include the repair?

No. The inspection fee covers the technician's visit, assessment, and diagnosis. Parts and repair labour are quoted separately unless otherwise stated.

Can you provide an exact repair price before inspecting the appliance?

Usually not. Similar symptoms can have different causes. An inspection may be required before we can provide an accurate repair estimate.

Do I have to approve the repair?

Yes. We will provide an estimate or obtain authorization before completing additional chargeable repair work, except where the work has already been approved under a service agreement or manufacturer warranty authorization.

Repairs and parts

Do you carry every appliance part?

No company carries every part for every model. Common parts may be available locally, while specialized, imported, or manufacturer-specific parts may need to be ordered.

How long do parts take to arrive?

Delivery time depends on the manufacturer, distributor, inventory, shipping method, and whether the part is imported. We will provide available updates, but manufacturer and courier delays are outside our control.

Can you install a part that I purchased?

This may be considered depending on the appliance and part. Client-supplied parts are not covered by our parts warranty, and additional conditions may apply.

Will you repair an appliance another company has worked on?

Possibly. The appliance must first be inspected. Fix Cheetah is not responsible for previous repairs, incorrect parts, altered wiring, installation defects, or damage caused by another party.

Do you guarantee that an appliance can be repaired?

No. Repairability depends on the appliance's condition, age, previous work, parts availability, manufacturer support, and the nature of the failure.

Installation, delivery and removal

Do you install appliances?

Yes. We provide standard, built-in, panel-ready, integrated, and flush appliance installation services. Availability depends on the appliance specifications, cabinetry, utilities, site conditions, and manufacturer requirements.

Do you install over-the-range microwaves?

Yes. We install and remove over-the-range microwaves with integrated range hoods. Minor cupboard adjustments may be available when appropriate. Major cabinetry, structural, electrical, or ventilation work may require another qualified trade.

Do you deliver appliances?

Yes. Appliance delivery may be booked as a standalone service or combined with installation and removal.

Do you remove and dispose of old appliances?

Yes. Appliance uninstallation, removal, hauling, and disposal are available. Fees depend on the appliance, location, access conditions, stairs, weight, and special-handling requirements.

Do you modify cabinets or countertops?

Minor adjustments may be available when specifically quoted. Major cabinetry, stone, structural, plumbing, gas, or electrical modifications must be completed by the appropriate qualified contractor.

Manufacturer warranty service

Is every repair covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

No. Warranty eligibility is determined by the manufacturer or warranty administrator after reviewing the product, failure, purchase information, and technician's findings.

What information is needed for a warranty claim?
  • Proof of purchase
  • Model number and serial number
  • Installation or purchase date
  • Service address
  • Photographs or videos
  • Description of the issue
  • Previous service records, if applicable
What happens if the manufacturer does not cover the service visit?

If the manufacturer declines coverage or the issue is determined to be non-warranty, a $99 plus GST service fee may be due at the end of the visit, together with any other previously authorized charges.

Common non-covered issues include installation problems, client education, misuse, cosmetic concerns, external damage, maintenance, blocked filters, building conditions, or problems unrelated to a manufacturing defect.

Fix Cheetah service warranty

Is your repair work covered by a warranty?

Unless otherwise stated in writing, completed repairs include a 30-day workmanship warranty. Parts supplied and installed by Fix Cheetah include a 30-day parts warranty unless the manufacturer provides different terms. Coverage applies only to the specific repair and parts listed on the invoice.

Are inspections covered?

Inspection and diagnostic services include a 5-day service guarantee with one complimentary callback concerning the same originally reported issue. An inspection does not include a repair warranty unless a repair was completed and listed on the invoice.

What is not covered by the service warranty?
  • User error, misuse, or neglect
  • Client education or operational concerns
  • Normal wear and tear or cosmetic issues
  • Manufacturer or design defects
  • Pre-existing, intermittent, or unrelated problems
  • Installation issues not caused by Fix Cheetah
  • Building, plumbing, electrical, drainage, ventilation, gas, or water-supply conditions
  • Client-supplied parts
  • Work altered by another person or company
Are handyman or maintenance services covered?

No warranty is provided for handyman work, cleaning, maintenance, adjustments, cosmetic work, or miscellaneous services unless expressly stated in writing.

Fireplace and chimney services

Do you service fireplaces?

Yes. We provide inspection and repair services for qualifying gas and electric fireplaces. Availability depends on the unit, location, parts availability, and technician qualifications.

Do you repair chimneys?

Yes. We perform qualifying chimney inspection, maintenance, and repair work based on the visible condition and agreed scope of work.

Will repairing the chimney guarantee that a roof leak stops?

Not necessarily. A roof is a connected system, and water may enter through the chimney, flashing, roofing materials, vents, siding, membranes, gutters, or another part of the building.

Our work addresses only the chimney components and services listed in the approved estimate or invoice. If the authorized chimney work is completed correctly but water continues entering from another source, this does not automatically mean the chimney work failed or qualify the completed work for a refund.

A qualified roofing or building-envelope specialist may be required to investigate the complete system.

Service areas and property access

Where does Fix Cheetah provide service?

We serve Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Sea-to-Sky, the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, Interior British Columbia, and other qualifying locations throughout British Columbia. Travel charges, minimum service fees, and availability vary by location.

Do you service apartments and strata properties?

Yes. We work in houses, apartments, condominiums, townhouses, rental properties, strata buildings, commercial properties, and new developments.

The client is responsible for arranging parking, building access, elevator access, loading access, and any required strata or property-management authorization.

Refrigerator and Freezer Repair

Why is my fridge warm when the freezer is still cold?

That means cold air isn't getting from the freezer into the fridge. Most refrigerators make their cold in the freezer and use a fan and damper to share it, so an iced-over evaporator from a defrost fault, a seized fan or a stuck damper can leave the freezer frozen while the fridge slowly warms. A single visit is usually enough to tell which one it is.

My fridge stopped cooling. What should I do before the technician arrives?

Keep the doors shut and move the most perishable items into a cooler packed with ice. Confirm the fridge has power and that nobody has changed the temperature setting. If the back wall of the freezer is thick with frost, leave it be: chipping at it or using a hair dryer erases a clue the technician uses to diagnose the defrost system.

How do I reset my refrigerator?

Cut power at the plug or breaker for about five minutes, turn it back on, and give the fridge up to 24 hours to return to temperature. Your owner's manual may also list a control reset or diagnostic mode for your model. If the same fault or error code reappears, a component has failed and needs testing.

Wine Cooler, Wine Refrigerator & Beverage Centre Repair

Why is my wine fridge not cooling?

Usually it can't get rid of heat because of a dusty condenser, a blocked front grille or a failed condenser fan. A bad start relay or thermostat comes next, and on thermoelectric models, the Peltier module. A freestanding cooler built into cabinetry it wasn't designed for will struggle too.

Are you authorized to do Cavavin warranty repairs?

Yes, Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for both Cavavin and Fhiaba. Have the model and serial number ready when you call or book online, and we'll help confirm what's covered.

What temperature should a wine fridge be?

For long-term storage, 12 to 13°C is the commonly recommended range for both reds and whites. Dual-zone models let you hold one zone a little cooler for whites and sparkling wine you plan to serve soon. Steadiness matters most, so a cooler that swings several degrees deserves a look.

Ice Maker Repair

Why is my ice maker not making ice, but the water works?

The ice maker and water dispenser have separate solenoids and lines, even when they share a valve body, so one can work without the other. A frozen fill tube, a failed ice-side solenoid, an arm left in the off position or a bad ice maker module will stop ice while water still pours. Check the arm or switch, then book a diagnosis.

How do I reset my ice maker?

Many fridge ice makers have a reset or test button on the module. Others reset when you turn the ice maker on and off or unplug the fridge for a few minutes, and the owner's manual spells out the method for your model. After a reset or a fresh install, allow about a day for the first full batch of ice.

Can you handle Scotsman ice machine repairs under warranty?

Yes, Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for Scotsman. The manufacturer decides coverage from the serial number, purchase details and the fault we find, and we manage the claim on eligible repairs. If something isn't covered, we explain why before any chargeable work goes ahead.

Dishwasher Repair

Why is water sitting in the bottom of my dishwasher?

A small amount of water can remain in the sump by design, but water standing above the filter usually points to restricted drainage, a blocked hose, air gap or failed drain pump.

How often should I clean a dishwasher filter?

For most homes, checking it every few weeks is a useful routine. Heavy cooking, pet hair or food debris may require more frequent cleaning. Follow the appliance manual for the exact procedure.

Why does my dishwasher smell bad?

Food residue in the filter, sump or door seals is a common cause. Standing water, a partially blocked drain or infrequent cleaning can also create odours. If cleaning does not resolve it, the drain path should be inspected.

Washing Machine Repair

Why won't my washing machine drain?

A blocked pump filter, restricted drain hose or failed drain pump are common causes. Excessive detergent can also create suds-related drainage problems.

How do I reset my washing machine?

Disconnect power for several minutes, then restore it and run a short cycle if the manual permits. A reset may clear a temporary electronic fault, but a recurring code still needs diagnosis.

Why does my front-load washer smell musty?

Detergent residue and trapped moisture around the door boot and outer tub are common causes. Use the correct detergent amount, run the cleaning cycle and keep the door ajar between loads.

Electric & Gas Dryer Repair

Why is my dryer running but not heating?

Electric dryers commonly develop element, thermal-fuse or thermostat faults. Gas dryers more often involve ignition or valve components. Restricted venting can contribute to overheating and repeated fuse failure.

Why does my dryer take two cycles?

Restricted airflow is a frequent cause. A blocked vent, crushed transition duct or exterior obstruction can keep moist air from leaving efficiently. Heating components and moisture sensors should also be checked.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

The appropriate interval depends on the vent length, number of bends, appliance and usage. Long or complex residential runs deserve more frequent attention. A noticeable increase in drying time is a good reason to inspect the system.

Range, Cooktop & Rangetop Repair

Why is my gas stove clicking but not lighting?

Common causes include a wet electrode, blocked ports, incorrectly seated burner cap or ignition-system failure. If cleaning and drying do not restore reliable ignition, professional testing is needed.

Why does my gas oven glow but not light?

A hot-surface igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas safety valve. The igniter and ignition circuit should be measured rather than judged by appearance.

Is a burner that keeps clicking dangerous?

It is a fault that should be addressed. Moisture can cause temporary clicking, but persistent operation can indicate a switch, electrode or spark-module problem.

Wall Oven, Combination, Steam & Speed Oven Repair

Why is my wall oven not heating?

Possible causes include a failed element, temperature sensor, thermal protection component or control relay. Gas models can have ignition faults. The correct part depends on the model and test results.

Does a wall oven need to come out of the cabinet for repair?

Not always. Some front-access components can be reached in place, while control boards, fans and wiring may require the oven to slide forward. We protect the surrounding finish when access requires removal.

Why does my oven fan keep running after I turn it off?

Cooling fans often continue operating while the oven and electronics cool. If the fan never stops, never starts when needed, or becomes unusually loud, the fan or its control may need attention.

Microwave Repair

Why is my microwave running but not heating?

The high-voltage heating system may have a failed magnetron, diode, capacitor or inverter board. Door interlock and thermal protection faults can also stop heating.

Is it worth repairing a microwave?

For a small countertop model, replacement is often more practical. Built-in, drawer, over-the-range and speed oven units can be worth repairing because replacement may require trim or cabinet changes.

Can I repair a microwave myself?

We do not recommend opening the cabinet. The high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge after unplugging.

Range Hood and Kitchen Ventilation Repair

Why is my range hood not removing smoke?

Saturated filters, grease on the blower, a restricted duct or stuck exterior damper are common causes. The hood may also be limited by a shared condo ventilation system.

How often should range hood filters be cleaned?

Monthly cleaning is a reasonable starting point for many homes, with more frequent cleaning when frying or high-heat cooking is common.

Why is my range hood dripping water?

Cold weather can expose condensation problems in the duct or exterior termination. The duct path, insulation, damper and hood need to be assessed rather than assuming the hood itself is leaking.
