Built-in ovens are powerful appliances installed inside finished cabinetry, which makes their repair different from servicing a freestanding range. Fix Cheetah repairs wall ovens across Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Sea-to-Sky corridor, including single and double cavities.
We service conventional electric ovens as well as steam, combi-steam and speed ovens. Warranty-authorized and factory-trained brands on the current service program include selected Fulgor Milano, Blomberg, Frigidaire, GE, Miele, Samsung, LG and Whirlpool models, with broader service for premium European and North American brands.
Access is part of the job. When an oven has to slide forward, we protect trim and flooring, use appropriate support for heavy units and reinstall the appliance square and secure.
Single and double wall oven repair
Wall ovens can hide the bake element beneath the cavity floor, while cooling fans protect electronics and surrounding cabinetry. A noisy cooling fan, oven that shuts down during a long bake, sagging door or blank display can point toward different systems and needs testing before parts are selected.
- Cooling fan is noisy or never starts when the oven is hot
- Oven shuts down during extended cooking
- Door no longer closes flush
- Display or touch controls become intermittent
- Heat marks appear around the surrounding trim
Steam and combi-steam oven repair
Steam systems introduce water valves, pumps, sensors, generators and drainage into the oven. Mineral deposits can reduce steam output and trigger repeated descaling messages. We separate the water-system diagnosis from the heating diagnosis and follow the manufacturer's procedure for descaling and component testing.
Speed oven repair
A speed oven combines microwave technology with convection or grill heating. That means a single appliance contains both a high-voltage microwave system and conventional heating components. Because microwave capacitors can retain dangerous electrical charge, internal diagnosis is technician work only.
Warming drawer service
Warming drawers have their own heating element, thermostat, controls and drawer hardware. A drawer that will not heat may have an open element or control, while overheating can involve a sensor or relay. Panel-ready fronts may need realignment after service.
Repair or replace a built-in oven?
Repair is often attractive because replacement models may have different cutout dimensions, which can turn an appliance replacement into a cabinetry project. Elements, sensors, hinges, fans, locks and control components can often be replaced.
Replacement becomes more reasonable when the cavity is damaged, key parts are discontinued or the oven has multiple major failures. We explain the condition before recommending either route.
5 Most Common Wall Oven Issues and How to Fix Them
Oven not heating
Electric ovens may have a failed bake element, sensor, thermal protection component or control relay. Gas models may involve ignition components. Check the breaker and confirm that delay-start or special modes are not active. Heating faults beyond these simple checks require professional testing.
Oven temperature is inaccurate
A drifting temperature sensor can cause uneven cooking, but door seals, convection fans and heating elements can also affect temperature. An oven thermometer can help confirm whether the displayed temperature and actual cavity temperature disagree.
Oven door locked after self-clean
The lock should remain engaged while the cavity cools. If the oven is cold and the door remains locked, the lock motor, switch or control system may have failed. Do not force the door or pry the latch.
Broiler not working
A failed broil element is common on electric ovens, while gas models have their own burner and ignition path. A control relay or connection can also interrupt power. Allow the oven to cool fully before inspecting visible components.
Convection fan not working
Uneven browning, no airflow or a grinding sound can point to a worn convection fan motor or separate convection element. The cooling fan that continues after cooking is often normal; a fan that runs abnormally for hours should be checked.
If the simple checks haven't fixed it, book an oven repair. We diagnose elements, sensors, igniters and controls, replace the failed parts and protect your cabinetry, with service across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

Wall Oven FAQ
Why is my wall oven not heating?
Possible causes include a failed element, temperature sensor, thermal protection component or control relay. Gas models can have ignition faults. The correct part depends on the model and test results.
Does a wall oven need to come out of the cabinet for repair?
Not always. Some front-access components can be reached in place, while control boards, fans and wiring may require the oven to slide forward. We protect the surrounding finish when access requires removal.
Why does my oven fan keep running after I turn it off?
Cooling fans often continue operating while the oven and electronics cool. If the fan never stops, never starts when needed, or becomes unusually loud, the fan or its control may need attention.
Should I use the self-clean cycle often?
Self-clean uses very high temperatures and can place extra stress on locks, thermal protection and electronic controls. Use it according to the manufacturer's guidance and never leave a cleaning cycle unattended.
Why does my steam oven keep asking me to descale?
Descaling prompts can be normal. If the prompt returns immediately after the correct procedure or steam output remains poor, the water system, sensor or steam generator may need diagnosis.
Can you repair speed ovens?
Yes. Speed ovens require separate assessment of the microwave and conventional heating systems, and internal high-voltage work should be performed only by trained technicians.
Is an older built-in oven worth repairing?
Often. Matching a replacement to the existing cutout can be difficult, so repair may avoid cabinetry changes. Parts availability and the condition of the cavity determine whether repair remains sensible.
