Cooking appliances take constant heat, spills, cookware impact and repeated cleaning. Fix Cheetah repairs freestanding and slide-in ranges, professional ranges, built-in cooktops and rangetops across Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Sea-to-Sky corridor.

We service gas, radiant electric and induction systems, including premium brands such as Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Bertazzoni, Gaggenau, Bosch, JennAir, Ilve, Smeg, Dacor, Café, GE Monogram, Thor Kitchen and ZLINE, alongside major household brands.

Gas appliances require appropriately qualified service. We test the ignition, burner operation and safety components rather than treating a visible symptom as the whole fault. Built-in cooktops and pro-style ranges are also handled carefully around stone, quartz and finished cabinetry.

Gas stove and rangetop repair

A gas burner depends on clean ports, correct cap placement, reliable ignition and proper gas flow. A delayed ignition, weak flame or burner that will not hold a simmer can indicate a blocked port, damaged electrode, valve problem or combustion issue.

  • Burner clicks repeatedly without lighting
  • Flame is yellow, weak, uneven or lifting
  • Burner goes out at a low setting
  • Griddle or French top heats unevenly
  • Oven igniter glows but gas does not establish a flame
  • Any smell of gas, which requires leaving the area and contacting the gas emergency service

Induction and radiant electric cooktops

Induction zones use electronic power modules, coils, cooling systems and temperature sensors. A suitable magnetic pan is the first simple check, but persistent errors can involve the inverter or power board, fan or control system. Radiant glass tops use elements, limiters and electronic or infinite-switch controls.

A cracked glass top should not be used until assessed. On many models the complete glass assembly can be replaced while other components remain serviceable.

Range ovens and dual-fuel models

The oven beneath a range has its own heating, sensing and control components. Electric models may develop element, sensor or relay faults, while gas ovens commonly involve ignition and safety-valve systems. Dual-fuel ranges combine gas cooking with an electric oven, so diagnosis needs to consider both systems.

Repair or replace your range or cooktop?

Igniters, spark modules, switches, elements, thermostats, fans and many control components can be replaced. Built-in cooktops are often especially worth repairing because their dimensions are tied to a specific countertop opening.

Replacement can make more sense when the cavity or cooktop structure is damaged, major parts are discontinued or multiple high-cost components have failed. We provide the repair information before you decide.

Everyday care for longer life

  • Let burner caps and electrodes dry fully after cleaning
  • Keep induction ventilation openings clear
  • Lift cookware instead of dragging it across glass
  • Use products intended for ceramic cooktops
  • Avoid unnecessary use of high-temperature self-clean cycles

5 Most Common Range & Cooktop Issues and How to Fix Them

Gas stove burner won't light

A crooked cap, blocked burner ports or moisture around the electrode can stop ignition. With the burner cool, clean the removable parts and allow them to dry. If there is still no reliable spark or flame, the ignition and gas system should be tested by a qualified technician.

Stove igniter keeps clicking

Moisture after cleaning or a boil-over can cause temporary clicking. Persistent clicking can involve an igniter switch, electrode or spark module. Disconnect power if the appliance is behaving abnormally and arrange service rather than repeatedly operating it.

Electric burner not working

A failed element is common, but a receptacle, infinite switch, limiter or control relay can also interrupt power. Do not work inside the appliance while energized. Professional testing identifies whether the fault is in the element or control path.

Induction cooktop not heating

Confirm the cookware is induction-compatible and correctly positioned. If the pan is recognized but the zone remains cold, possible causes include the power module, coil, cooling fan, temperature sensor or control system.

Electric burner only works on high

A zone that stays at maximum heat can have a failed infinite switch, limiter or relay. Stop using a zone that will not regulate or switch off normally and have the control circuit checked.

Cleaned and dried, and still no luck? Book a diagnosis. Gas-certified technicians handle the gas side, and we replace igniters, spark modules, switches, elements and induction boards across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

Range & Cooktop FAQ

Why is my gas stove clicking but not lighting?

Common causes include a wet electrode, blocked ports, incorrectly seated burner cap or ignition-system failure. If cleaning and drying do not restore reliable ignition, professional testing is needed.

Why does my gas oven glow but not light?

A hot-surface igniter can glow without drawing enough current to open the gas safety valve. The igniter and ignition circuit should be measured rather than judged by appearance.

Is a burner that keeps clicking dangerous?

It is a fault that should be addressed. Moisture can cause temporary clicking, but persistent operation can indicate a switch, electrode or spark-module problem.

Why won't my induction cooktop recognize a pan?

Induction requires suitable magnetic cookware of the appropriate size. If a magnet sticks firmly and the pan is positioned correctly, the cooktop may need testing for a coil, sensor, power-board or control fault.

Can a cracked glass cooktop be repaired?

The glass itself is not normally repaired. Many models allow the complete top assembly to be replaced, but the cooktop should remain out of use until assessed.

Do you service professional-style ranges?

Yes. We work on professional and premium ranges and rangetops, including gas, electric, induction and dual-fuel configurations.
