When a new appliance fails while it is still under warranty, the last thing you want is a runaround. Manufacturer warranties generally require repairs to be carried out by an authorized service provider using approved parts, and working with an unauthorized repairer can create problems with your coverage.

Fix Cheetah does warranty appliance repair in Vancouver and across BC as an authorized provider for Blomberg, Breda, Cavavin, Eurotrim, Faber, Falmec, Fhiaba, Frigidaire, Fulgor Milano, GE, Irinox and Scotsman. For these brands, we can perform covered repairs under the manufacturer's warranty terms, communicate with the manufacturer on your behalf and source approved parts.

We also help with appliances covered by extended warranty plans and, of course, with appliances whose warranty has expired. We are also factory-trained on LG, Miele, Samsung and Whirlpool, and we service a long list of other brands out of warranty across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and BC.

How a warranty claim typically works

Every manufacturer sets its own warranty terms, but the process usually follows the same steps. First, the problem is reported and the appliance's details are verified. Next, an authorized technician inspects and diagnoses the appliance. If the failure is covered, the repair is authorized by the manufacturer, parts are ordered if needed and the repair is completed. Some manufacturers ask you to register the claim with them first, while others allow the service provider to open the claim.

Warranties typically cover defects in materials and workmanship, not damage from improper installation, misuse, power surges or cosmetic issues. If something is not covered, we will explain why and give you a transparent quote for the repair so you can decide how to proceed.

What to have ready when you book

Having the right information on hand speeds up a warranty claim considerably.

  • The model number and serial number, usually on a label inside the door, on the frame or at the back of the appliance
  • Proof of purchase, such as an invoice or receipt showing the date of purchase and the retailer
  • The installation date if different from the purchase date
  • A description of the problem, including any error codes and when it started
  • Photos of the rating label and the issue, if easy to take

Extended warranties and protection plans

Many appliances are sold with third-party extended warranties or retailer protection plans. These plans have their own claim processes and approved service networks. Check your plan documents or contact the plan provider to confirm whether you can choose your own service provider. When a plan allows it, we are happy to carry out the repair and provide the documentation the plan provider needs.

Out-of-warranty repair

Once a warranty expires, you are free to choose any qualified repair company. We repair out-of-warranty appliances from GE, LG, Miele, Samsung and Whirlpool, where our technicians are factory-trained, as well as Bosch, KitchenAid, Maytag, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador and many more. Every repair comes with a transparent upfront quote and our workmanship warranty.

Warranty Repair FAQ

Which brands are you warranty-authorized for?

We are warranty-authorized for Blomberg, Breda, Cavavin, Eurotrim, Faber, Falmec, Fhiaba, Frigidaire, Fulgor Milano, GE, Irinox and Scotsman. For these brands we can perform covered repairs under the manufacturer's warranty terms.

Where do I find my model and serial number?

The rating label is usually inside the door or door frame on refrigerators and dishwashers, behind the drawer or on the frame of ranges, under the filter on range hoods and on the back or inside the door of laundry appliances. Taking a clear photo of the label is helpful.

What if my brand is not on your warranty-authorized list?

Contact the manufacturer for their authorized service provider while the appliance is under warranty. Once the warranty expires, or if the manufacturer allows it, we can repair it. We are factory-trained on LG, Miele, Samsung and Whirlpool and service many other brands.

Can you repair appliances covered by extended warranties?

Often, yes. Extended warranty and protection plans each have their own rules, so check whether you can choose your service provider. Where permitted, we complete the repair and provide the paperwork the plan needs.

Will repairing my appliance elsewhere void the warranty?

It can. Many manufacturers require repairs during the warranty period to be done by an authorized service provider. Check with the manufacturer before using an unauthorized repairer on an appliance still under warranty.

What does a manufacturer warranty usually not cover?

Warranties generally exclude damage from improper installation, misuse, power surges, cosmetic wear and consumable items such as filters and bulbs. Exact terms vary by manufacturer.

Do you guarantee out-of-warranty repairs?

Yes. Completed out-of-warranty repairs carry our 30-day parts and workmanship warranty, and you get a clear quote to approve before any work is carried out.
