Warranty-authorized service provider

The go-to technicians for Irinox blast chillers in BC

Fix Cheetah is authorized to perform Irinox manufacturer-warranty repairs, and we fix out-of-warranty Irinox appliances with the same training and genuine parts.

Irinox blast chiller repair covers both home and commercial machines. Irinox brought its professional blast-chilling know-how into the home kitchen with Freddy, a built-in multi-function blast chiller made in 45 cm and 60 cm heights to fit a standard 60 cm wide cabinet niche, often installed in a column with a wall oven, and Fresco, a countertop model. Both do far more than chill. They shock freeze, thaw under control, proof dough, cook at low temperature and hold food hot, working across a range of roughly -35°C to +80°C. One compact cavity therefore holds a refrigeration system, a heating system, a core-temperature probe and the control that switches between them.

Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for Irinox, which covers manufacturer-warranty claims, and we repair machines that have aged out of coverage too. We test the refrigeration and heating sides separately, check probe readings against a reference thermometer and follow Irinox procedures for parts and paperwork. Our Surrey team looks after homes and commercial kitchens across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, including Irinox MultiFresh cabinets, while our Whistler-based technicians cover chalets and restaurants from Squamish to Pemberton. Island and remote properties are served on scheduled trips booked in advance.

5 Most Common Irinox Blast Chiller Issues and How to Fix Them

Irinox blast chiller not getting cold enough

Freddy and Fresco end a probe-guided cycle when the core of the food reaches its target, so weak cooling shows up as cycles that run far too long or time out. A condenser starved of air by a tight niche or a blocked grille is the most common cause, followed by a weak evaporator fan or a refrigerant problem. Check the ventilation openings are clear and that you're not loading more hot food than the program expects. Refrigerant work is for licensed technicians. We test airflow first, then the sealed system.

Irinox core probe error

The core probe is handled, flexed and shut in the door with almost every use, so its cable and socket take a beating. A damaged lead or a loose socket gives erratic readings, and the control may refuse a probe cycle or fall back to timed operation. Check the cable for kinks or cuts, clean the probe and socket as your manual describes, and make sure the plug is fully seated, minding the sharp tip. If the error remains, we test the probe against a reference thermometer and replace the probe or socket.

Irinox Freddy warm functions not working

Proofing, thawing, low-temperature cooking and hot holding run on a heating circuit that's separate from the refrigeration system. If a heater, its thermal cut-out or the relay that switches it fails, those programs stop working while chilling and freezing carry on normally, which confuses a lot of owners. Try a warm program with an empty cavity and note whether it warms at all. Leave the wiring and cut-outs alone. We test the heater, cut-out and relay and replace the failed part with a genuine Irinox one.

Irinox blast chiller water in cavity

Chilling hot, steamy food releases a lot of moisture, and that water has to leave through the condensate drain. If the drain path is blocked, or the evaporator ices over after heavy back-to-back use, water sits in the cavity or reaches the cabinet under a built-in Freddy. Wipe the cavity dry between cycles, let a heavily frosted unit defrost fully and check the drain outlet for food debris. If water keeps collecting, we clear the drain, check the defrost and inspect the cabinet base for water damage.

Irinox alarm on start-up

The control watches its sensors, fans and the door position, and it raises an alarm when something doesn't add up. Alarms after a power cut are common and may clear once the machine restarts normally. A door that no longer seals fully, often from a worn gasket or a probe cable trapped in the door, can trigger one too. Write down exactly what the display shows before clearing it, then check the gasket and door. If the alarm returns, we read it in context and test the part behind it.

Authorized by Irinox for warranty work, our technicians test the cooling and heating sides separately and fit genuine Irinox parts, for home and commercial kitchens across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Squamish to Pemberton.

Irinox Blast Chiller Repair FAQ

Can you repair an Irinox that's still under manufacturer warranty?

Yes. Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for Irinox, so we carry out eligible warranty repairs. Have your proof of purchase and the serial number from the rating label ready when you book, and we'll confirm coverage and handle the warranty paperwork. Units outside warranty are repaired by the same technicians.

Does a built-in Freddy have to come out of the cabinet for repair?

It depends on the fault. Some parts can be reached with the unit in place, while sealed-system and some heater work means sliding it out of the niche. We protect the cabinetry and any oven stacked above or below, then reinstall it with the ventilation clearances Irinox specifies.

What routine care keeps a residential blast chiller working well?

Clean the cavity and probe after use as the manual describes, keep the cabinet's ventilation openings clear and check the door gasket for tears. If cycles start taking noticeably longer than they used to, book an inspection before an airflow or refrigeration problem strains the compressor.
