Warranty-authorized service provider
The go-to technicians for Breda dryers in BC
Fix Cheetah is authorized to perform Breda manufacturer-warranty repairs, and we fix out-of-warranty Breda appliances with the same training and genuine parts.
Breda dryer repair starts with knowing which of its two compact 24-inch dryers you own. One is a 7 kg vented model that works the conventional way, pushing warm, moist air out through a duct. The other is a 9 kg ventless heat pump dryer that dries at lower temperatures in a closed refrigeration loop, which Breda says cuts energy use by more than half and reduces creasing. The two designs fail in different ways and use different parts. Tell us the model when you book.
Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for Breda dryers. Covered repairs go directly through the manufacturer's process with genuine parts, and out-of-warranty dryers are repaired once you approve our quote. On vented models we also look at the duct run, because a long or crushed condo duct slows drying more often than any failed part does. On heat pump models, our technicians diagnose the sealed system as well as the fans and sensors. We serve Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky corridor, with scheduled trips to ferry-served communities.

5 Most Common Breda Dryer Issues and How to Fix Them
Breda heat pump dryer drying slowly
The 9 kg heat pump model depends on steady airflow across its heat exchanger. Fine lint that gets past the door filter builds up on the second filter and the exchanger fins, and drying times stretch out load by load. A tired circulation fan or a fouled humidity sensor can add to it. Unplug the dryer, clean both filters and check that the room isn't cold or closed in. If performance doesn't come back, we clean the exchanger properly and test the fan, sensors and heat pump.
Breda vented dryer overheating
If the top of the 7 kg vented dryer feels hot and loads come out damp, the exhaust duct is almost always restricted: lint packed in a long condo run, a crushed foil transition hose or a stuck flap on the exterior hood. Trapped heat can blow the thermal fuse, and lint sitting near a hot heater is a real fire risk. Clean the lint filter, check that the outside flap opens while the dryer runs and straighten any kinks you can reach. Ducts hidden inside walls need professional cleaning.
Breda dryer not heating
On the vented model, no heat usually traces to an open heating element, a blown thermal fuse or a failed high-limit thermostat, and a blown fuse is a sign the venting needs attention too. On the heat pump model, cool air points to a compressor that isn't starting or a sensor reporting the wrong temperature. Check the breaker and clean the filters first. Electrical testing of these parts, and anything inside the refrigeration circuit, is work for a qualified technician with the right equipment.
Breda dryer water tank warning won't clear
This one belongs to the heat pump dryer. If the tank is empty but the warning stays lit, a failing condensate pump, a sticking float switch or a lint-blocked internal line is stopping the water from moving. Plumbed installations can show the same message when the drain hose is kinked or the standpipe is clogged. Empty and rinse the tank, reseat it firmly and follow the hose path for kinks. If the warning returns on the next load, the pump and switch need testing and possibly replacement.
Breda dryer drum not spinning
A hum with no rotation, or a dryer that runs its fan while the drum sits still, usually means a broken drive belt, a worn idler pulley or a failed drive motor. On a stacked pair, a load that's too big for the compact drum adds strain. Unplug the dryer, remove some clothes and confirm the door shuts fully. If the drum still won't move, or it spins freely by hand with no resistance at all, the belt has gone and the cabinet has to come apart for the repair.
Tell us whether it's the vented or heat pump Breda and we'll diagnose it properly, then replace the failed part with genuine stock, under warranty where it's covered, anywhere from Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley to Whistler.

Breda Dryer Repair FAQ
What do you need for a Breda dryer warranty repair?
Have the model and serial number from the label in the door opening, plus your proof of purchase. Tell us whether it's the vented or the heat pump model, and whether it's stacked on the washer. That lets us confirm coverage and plan the repair before we arrive.
Why does my Breda heat pump dryer take longer than my old dryer?
Because it dries at lower temperatures, longer cycles are normal for this design. What isn't normal is a sudden jump in drying time. If that happens, clean both filters and make sure the room isn't closed in or cold, then call us if it doesn't improve.
How often should a Breda vented dryer duct be cleaned?
At least once a year, and more often if the duct runs a long way through a condo or townhouse. A clear duct dries faster, protects the thermal fuse and cuts the risk of a lint fire.
