Factory-trained technicians
The go-to technicians for Samsung microwaves in BC
Our technicians are factory-trained on Samsung, so we know the platforms, diagnostics and service procedures, in warranty or out.
Samsung microwave repair covers over-the-range, countertop and built-in models. The over-the-range versions double as a cooktop vent, with an exhaust fan, cooktop lights and a choice of outside venting or recirculation through a charcoal filter. Many Samsung microwaves have a ceramic enamel interior that wipes clean easily, plus sensor cooking that adjusts the time based on steam from the food, and some convection models also bake and roast. When the touch panel shorts, Samsung microwaves usually display SE, which points straight at the keypad and control board.
A microwave stores high voltage even when unplugged, so repairs belong with a trained technician. Fix Cheetah's factory-trained technicians repair Samsung microwaves across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley from our Surrey base, and in Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton from our Whistler base. When an over-the-range unit has to come off its wall bracket, we support it safely and check the vent fan, damper and lights on the same visit. Before quoting, we confirm whether repair makes sense compared with replacement.

5 Most Common Samsung Microwave Issues and How to Fix Them
Samsung microwave not heating
The turntable turns, the light's on, the timer counts down, and dinner is still cold. On a Samsung, that usually means a failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor, or a high-voltage fuse that blew when one of them shorted. Run a cup of water for a minute to be sure, and confirm the door latches with a solid click. Don't go looking inside: the capacitor can stay charged at lethal levels after unplugging. We test the whole high-voltage circuit before naming a part.
Samsung microwave SE error code
SE means the control has detected a shorted or stuck key on the touch panel. On over-the-range models, steam and grease from the cooktop below are the usual cause, and sometimes the code is just moisture that clears once the panel dries out. Wipe the panel dry, switch the microwave off at the breaker for a few minutes, then restore power. If SE comes back or buttons stay dead, the keypad membrane or the control board needs replacing, and we test both to see which.
Samsung microwave dead after closing the door
Shut the door, hear a click or pop, and the display goes dark? The door interlock system is designed to blow the main fuse when a switch fails out of sequence, a safety measure that leaves the microwave completely dead. A loose door hook can set off the same chain of events. Check the breaker before anything else. A new fuse on its own won't last because the faulty switch is still there, so we test the switches and door alignment and replace whatever caused it.
Samsung microwave sparking inside
On Samsung's ceramic enamel interiors, a chip in the coating exposes the metal underneath and can spark, and a grease-soaked waveguide cover or burnt-on food residue arcs too. Metal-trimmed plates and twist ties are the other common causes. Stop the cycle, remove anything metal and, with the power off, clean the cavity and cover gently with a soft cloth. If it sparks again with nothing metal inside, stop using it. Continued arcing can ruin the magnetron, so the cover or cavity needs repair first.
Samsung over-the-range microwave fan not working
On Samsung over-the-range models, a failed fan motor, a stuck relay on the control board, a damper jammed shut or a dead light socket can each stop the vent or lights while the microwave still heats. Clogged grease filters make the motor work harder and fail sooner. With the breaker off, wash the grease filters, replace the charcoal filter if it recirculates, and change the cooktop bulb. If the fan stays silent or rattles, we take the unit off its bracket and test the motor, damper and board.
Samsung over-the-range, built-in and countertop microwaves get a factory-trained diagnosis, from SE codes to a dead high-voltage circuit, with failed parts replaced in kitchens across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

Samsung Microwave Repair FAQ
Is it worth repairing a Samsung over-the-range microwave?
Often it is. An over-the-range unit is tied into the wall bracket, the venting and the cabinet above, so replacing it is more work than swapping a countertop model. Door switches, keypads, fan motors and fuses are reasonable repairs. If the magnetron and control both fail on an older unit, we'll tell you plainly if replacing it makes more sense.
Why does my Samsung microwave display SE?
SE means a shorted or stuck key on the touch panel. Sometimes it's moisture that clears once the panel dries. If it keeps coming back, the keypad membrane or the control board needs replacing, and we test both to find out which has failed.
Can I replace the microwave fuse myself?
We don't recommend it. A microwave's high-voltage capacitor can hold a dangerous charge long after it's unplugged, and a blown fuse is usually a symptom of another fault, such as a failed door switch. A technician will make the circuit safe and find out why the fuse blew.
