Frigidaire microwave not heating
If a Frigidaire runs its full time with the light and turntable working but the food comes out cold, the high-voltage side has failed: usually the magnetron, the diode or the capacitor, less often the transformer. On convection or air-fry Gallery models, note whether those modes still heat, since that helps narrow it down. Heat a cup of water to confirm. Never take the cover off to look, because even unplugged, that circuit can deliver a fatal shock. A technician tests and replaces these parts.
Frigidaire microwave fan won't turn off
Over-the-range Frigidaire microwaves start the vent fan automatically when they sense heat rising from the cooktop, so a fan that runs while you cook is normal. If it runs with the cooktop cold and won't switch off, a stuck relay on the control board or a failed thermal sensor is likely. A fan that won't run at all usually has a seized motor. Switch the microwave off at the breaker for a few minutes, then check again. Persistent faults need the board and fan tested.
Frigidaire microwave stops mid-cycle
Door interlock switches confirm the door is shut, and when one wears or the latch hooks no longer line up, the microwave cuts out partway through or refuses to start. Overheating can do it too, if the cooling vents on an over-the-range model are blocked by items stored on or around it. Check that the door closes firmly and the vents are clear. Sparks and crackling usually start at the waveguide cover, the small panel on the cavity wall, once it's soaked with grease or burned through. Chipped interior paint, a metal-trimmed dish or a rack used in the wrong mode on convection models also cause arcing. Stop the microwave, remove anything metal and, once the power is off, gently wipe the cavity and cover with a mild cleaner. If it still sparks, stop using it. Arcing can damage the magnetron, and the cover or cavity needs professional repair.
