Factory-trained technicians
The go-to technicians for LG microwaves in BC
Our technicians are factory-trained on LG, so we know the platforms, diagnostics and service procedures, in warranty or out.
LG microwave repair depends a lot on which design you own. LG's Canadian lineup includes over-the-range models and countertop units, among them the NeoChef range with Smart Inverter power control. Over-the-range LG models double as the kitchen's ventilation, with a vent fan, cooktop light and, on many, ExtendaVent, a pull-out panel that extends the capture area over the front burners. Some add convection or air fry cooking. Inverter models deliver steady, adjustable power through an electronic board, while others use a high-voltage transformer, capacitor and diode.
Fix Cheetah's technicians are factory-trained on LG and follow strict high-voltage safety, since a microwave capacitor can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging. Over-the-range units are taken off their mounting plate when needed and reinstalled securely to the upper cabinet. We repair LG microwaves in condos across Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond, in homes from Surrey to Abbotsford and in Sea-to-Sky homes served from our Whistler base. Remote and island properties are scheduled ahead, and we'll tell you plainly if replacement makes more sense than repair.

5 Most Common LG Microwave Issues and How to Fix Them
LG microwave not heating
On transformer-type LG microwaves, cold food with everything else working points to the magnetron, the high-voltage diode or the capacitor. On Smart Inverter models, including NeoChef, the inverter board takes the transformer's place and is often the part that's failed. Either way the turntable and light carry on normally, which confuses people. Heat a cup of water for a minute to confirm, and check the door shuts fully. Please don't open the case: high voltage lingers after unplugging, and diagnosis needs a technician.
LG microwave not turning on
Dead display after a loud pop? A failing door interlock switch or a door that's dropped out of alignment has probably blown the fuse, which is a deliberate safety design. A tripped breaker or a failed power supply on the control board can look the same. Check the breaker, and try a different outlet for a countertop model. If it's still dead, book a repair. Replacing the fuse alone won't hold, because the switches and door alignment have to be corrected at the same time.
LG over-the-range microwave fan not working
On LG over-the-range models, the vent fan motor, its relay on the control board and the light socket can each fail independently of the cooking side. Grease-loaded filters strain the fan and make it noisy, and an ExtendaVent panel left pushed in reduces how much steam the hood catches from the front burners. Switch the power off, wash the grease filters and replace the charcoal filter on recirculating installs. If the fan still won't run, the motor or relay needs replacing by a technician.
LG microwave buttons not working
Steam and grease rising from the cooktop get into the membrane keypad on over-the-range LG microwaves, giving dead buttons, buttons that stick, or phantom beeps. Countertop NeoChef models more often suffer from spills, or a control board that's locked up after a power flicker. Make sure the control lock isn't active, wipe the panel dry, and cut the power for a few minutes. If buttons still don't respond, we test the keypad and control board and replace whichever has failed.
LG microwave turntable not turning
A turntable that stops or grinds usually has a cracked coupler, a roller ring out of its track or a turntable motor that's worn out. Uneven heating, with cold centres and scorched edges, is the giveaway. Take out the glass tray and ring, clean the cavity floor and look at the coupler for cracks before reseating it. If the parts are fine and it still won't turn, the motor under the cavity needs replacing. It's a small repair, but one that means opening the cabinet.
LG microwaves, over-the-range or NeoChef countertop, are diagnosed by factory-trained technicians who replace the failed part and remount over-the-range units securely, in condos and houses across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky.

LG Microwave Repair FAQ
Is it safe to open an LG microwave and fix it myself?
No. Even unplugged, the high-voltage capacitor can store enough charge to cause serious injury. Limit DIY care to cleaning, the turntable and the grease filters, and leave internal repairs to a trained technician.
Why does the fan on my LG over-the-range microwave turn on by itself?
A heat sensor starts the vent fan automatically when the cooktop below gets hot, to protect the microwave's electronics. It switches off once things cool down, so it's normal behaviour rather than a fault.
Is an LG over-the-range microwave worth repairing?
Often, yes. Door switches, fans, lights and turntable parts are usually worth fixing, especially since a replacement may not match the existing mounting holes and cabinet gap. On an older unit with a failed magnetron or board, we'll give you an honest comparison.
