Factory-trained technicians
The go-to technicians for Whirlpool refrigerators & freezers in BC
Our technicians are factory-trained on Whirlpool, so we know the platforms, diagnostics and service procedures, in warranty or out.
Whirlpool refrigerator repair is bread-and-butter work in BC rental suites and family kitchens. Whirlpool sells top-freezer, bottom-freezer, side-by-side and French-door refrigerators in Canada, including counter-depth models, and its fridges share platforms and many parts with Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and Inglis. So the same fan motors, defrost controls, water valves and ice makers turn up under several nameplates. French-door models often have the ice maker in the fresh-food door, while simpler models make ice in the freezer. Most models with a dispenser use an EveryDrop water filter.
We're factory-trained on Whirlpool and run its built-in service diagnostics to check fans, sensors and defrost operation before replacing anything. Because the platform is shared, that training helps when your fridge carries a Maytag, KitchenAid or Inglis badge too. Property managers in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey rely on us for repairs across multiple suites, and we serve the rest of the Fraser Valley from our Surrey base. Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton are covered by our Whistler team, and ferry-dependent areas are served on scheduled trips.

5 Most Common Whirlpool Refrigerator Issues and How to Fix Them
Whirlpool fridge not cooling but freezer works
Most Whirlpool fridges cool the fresh-food section with air borrowed from the freezer, metered through an air damper. If the evaporator fan stops, the coil ices over from a defrost failure or the damper sticks shut, the fridge warms while the freezer stays cold. Open the freezer and listen: no fan noise while the compressor runs is a strong clue. Clear food away from the vent between the two sections. Then we test the fan, damper and defrost parts, and fix the cause so the ice doesn't return.
Whirlpool ice maker not filling
If the ice maker cycles but the mould stays dry, water isn't getting there. A frozen fill tube, a failed water inlet valve or a clogged EveryDrop filter are the usual causes, and low household pressure makes all three worse. Check the shut-off valve is open, replace the filter if it's old and look for a kink where the line runs behind the fridge. On door-mounted ice makers, also check the compartment cover is sealing. If water still won't arrive, we test the valve and ice maker module.
Whirlpool fridge leaking water
Three places account for most Whirlpool leaks: the filter housing, the supply line at the water inlet valve and the defrost drain. A cracked housing or worn filter O-ring drips at the front, a loose compression fitting leaks at the back, and a blocked drain overflows inside and runs out under the door. Unplug the fridge, shut the water off and dry everything so you can watch where it reappears. Reseat the filter. If the leak continues, we replace the housing, line or valve, or clear the drain.
Ice building up in Whirlpool freezer
A sheet of ice on the freezer floor, rather than frost on the walls, usually means the defrost drain has frozen or clogged. Meltwater from each defrost cycle then spills out across the floor and freezes there. Sometimes it's a water line or ice maker overfilling instead. Remove the ice with the freezer unplugged and a towel underneath, never with a sharp tool near the back panel where the refrigerant lines run. If it comes back, we clear the drain and check the defrost heater and drain components.
Whirlpool fridge clicking and not cooling
On top-freezer Whirlpools especially, repeated clicking from the back with no cooling usually means the start relay or overload has failed and the compressor can't start. A dusty condenser or failed condenser fan can overheat the compressor and cause the same pattern. Unplug the fridge, pull it out carefully and vacuum the coils, then check whether the condenser fan spins freely. If the clicking returns once it's plugged back in, call. We test the relay, overload and compressor before the food spoils.
Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid or Inglis on the door, our factory-trained technicians diagnose the shared platform properly and replace the failed part with one matched to your model, anywhere from Vancouver and Surrey out to Abbotsford and up to Whistler.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair FAQ
Do you repair Maytag, KitchenAid and Inglis fridges too?
Yes. These brands belong to the Whirlpool family and share many refrigerator platforms and parts. Our Whirlpool factory training applies directly to them, and we use the same diagnostic approach and part sources whatever badge is on the door.
Why is my Whirlpool fridge warm while the freezer still works?
Because the fresh-food section depends on cold air coming from the freezer. If the evaporator fan stops, the coil ices over from a defrost failure or the air damper sticks shut, the fridge warms while the freezer stays cold. We find which part has failed and confirm the defrost system works, so the ice doesn't come back.
My Whirlpool dispenser started dripping after a filter change. What happened?
Most likely the filter isn't fully seated, or an O-ring was damaged or the housing cracked. Any of those can leak or let air into the line, causing drips and sputtering. Try reseating the filter first. If the drip continues, we check the housing, the dispenser valve and the water line through the door.
