Warranty-authorized service provider
The go-to technicians for GE refrigerators & freezers in BC
Fix Cheetah is authorized to perform GE manufacturer-warranty repairs, and we fix out-of-warranty GE appliances with the same training and genuine parts.
GE refrigerator repair covers just about every layout, because GE Appliances builds them all, from top-freezer models in rental suites to side-by-side and French-door fridges in family kitchens. The GE Profile line adds features such as TwinChill dual evaporators, door-mounted or in-fridge ice and water and, on some models, hands-free autofill that fills a pitcher for you. Many GE French-door and bottom-freezer models use the RPWFE water filter, which carries a chip the fridge reads before it will dispense. Each platform has its own known failure points, so we start by identifying the platform and its history.
As a warranty-authorized GE service provider, Fix Cheetah handles eligible in-warranty refrigerator claims as well as paid repairs once coverage ends. Our technicians use GE's service diagnostics where available, test fans, defrost components, valves and the sealed system, and quote before any chargeable work, using genuine GE parts. Retailers trust us with this work too. From Surrey we reach Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton are handled by our Whistler technicians, and remote areas get scheduled trips.

5 Most Common GE Refrigerator Issues and How to Fix Them
GE fridge not cooling but freezer works
Which GE you own changes the diagnosis. On single-evaporator models, the fridge gets its cold air from the freezer, so a coil frosted over by a defrost fault, or a stopped evaporator fan, leaves the top section warm. TwinChill models have a separate evaporator and fan for each section, so we test the affected side directly. Before booking, check the temperature settings and make sure food isn't blocking the vents. If it's still warm a day later, note the model number from the label inside so we can arrive with the right parts.
GE water dispenser not working after filter change
Fridges that use the chipped RPWFE filter won't dispense at all if they can't read the filter, or if it isn't fully locked in. Remove it, check the cap and chip aren't damaged, and reinstall it until it turns firmly into place. A non-genuine filter is a common cause on these models. Then run water for a few minutes to purge air from the line. If there's still nothing, or the filter warning won't clear, we test the filter reader, the water inlet valve and the dispenser circuit.
GE ice maker not making ice
On GE ice makers with a feeler arm, check the arm isn't raised to the stop position and that the ice maker switch is on. Next, confirm the household water supply is open and the filter isn't overdue. A fill tube frozen solid, often from a freezer set too cold or warm air leaking in, stops water reaching the mould entirely. Low pressure from a partly closed saddle valve gives small cubes. If water is reaching the fridge and the ice maker still won't cycle, we test the inlet valve and ice maker module.
GE refrigerator leaking water
Water inside under the crispers usually means the defrost drain has frozen or clogged. Water on the floor at the front is more often a supply line, filter head or autofill connection. Unplug the fridge, shut the water supply off if you can reach the valve, and dry the area so you can see where fresh water reappears. Check the filter is seated and not cracked. We clear and heat the drain where needed, replace leaking lines or valves, and check for water that has already reached the flooring.
GE fridge making buzzing noise
A buzz every 10 to 15 minutes is often the ice maker's water valve calling for water when the household supply is shut off. GE notes this one in its own support material. Open the supply, or switch the ice maker off if the fridge isn't plumbed. Rattling or ticking that changes when you open the freezer door usually means a fan blade touching frost, and a loud hum from the back can be the condenser fan. If the noise persists, we pinpoint the source and replace the failing fan or valve.

GE Refrigerator Repair FAQ
What do I need for a GE refrigerator warranty repair?
The model and serial number and your proof of purchase. On most GE fridges the label is inside the fresh-food compartment, on a side wall or the ceiling. As a warranty-authorized provider, we confirm coverage with GE Appliances and complete eligible repairs under warranty. Work outside coverage is quoted before it starts.
Do you repair GE Profile refrigerators as well as standard GE models?
Yes. GE Profile is part of GE Appliances, and we service both lines, including Profile features like TwinChill evaporators, hands-free autofill and built-in ice and water systems.
Why does my GE fridge say to replace the filter when it's new?
Usually the filter reminder hasn't been reset. Many GE fridges track filter life and need a manual reset after a change, which your manual explains. If the fridge won't dispense at all with a new filter, the filter may not be seated or recognised, and that's something we can check.
