Factory-trained technicians
The go-to technicians for LG dishwashers in BC
Our technicians are factory-trained on LG, so we know the platforms, diagnostics and service procedures, in warranty or out.
LG dishwasher repair usually begins with a two-letter code on the display. LG dishwashers sold in Canada are 24-inch built-in models with front or top controls, stainless tubs and, on many, a third rack. LG's QuadWash system uses multi-motion spray arms to reach dishes from more angles, TrueSteam models add a steam generator for baked-on soil and spotting, and the wash pump on many models is driven by an inverter direct-drive motor. The codes are short: OE for drain, IE for water inlet, HE for heating, LE for the motor, and AE or E1 when water is detected in the base pan.
Our technicians are factory-trained on LG dishwashers, so they work from the code and the machine's test cycle rather than replacing parts on a hunch. Soft water across most of Metro Vancouver means a little detergent goes a long way, and over-dosing is a frequent cause of suds-related leak codes. We service LG dishwashers in condos and homes from Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond out to Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford, and our Whistler-based team covers the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Remote and island properties are served on scheduled trips.

5 Most Common LG Dishwasher Issues and How to Fix Them
LG dishwasher OE error
OE means the dishwasher couldn't pump the water out in time. The filter assembly under the lower spray arm clogs with food and labels, the drain hose gets kinked behind the cabinet, or on a new install the knockout plug in the garburator inlet was never removed. Switch off the breaker, twist out the filter and rinse it, and check the hose under the sink. If OE returns with a clean filter and a clear hose, the drain pump and its wiring need professional testing.
LG dishwasher AE or E1 error
AE or E1 is LG's leak code. A float switch in the base pan trips when water collects there, and the dishwasher stops filling. Excess suds, a cracked sump, a leaking door gasket or a loose hose connection are typical causes. Switch off the power, wipe the door gasket and check under the sink for drips. If you recently changed detergent, go back to a lower dose. The base has to dry out before the code clears, and a code that keeps returning means a technician should open the base and find the leak.
LG dishwasher not drying
Cold, wet dishes, sometimes with an HE code, point to the heater, the water temperature sensor or the wiring between them. Without proper heat the detergent doesn't activate well and drying suffers, most of all on steam and sanitize cycles. Check that rinse aid is filled, run the tap hot before starting, and pick a cycle with heated drying. If the dishes still finish cool and the code returns, the heater circuit needs testing by a trained technician rather than guesswork.
LG dishwasher LE error
LE means the wash motor couldn't turn as expected. Broken glass, a fruit pit or a bone fragment lodged at the pump impeller can stall the direct-drive motor, often with a grinding sound first. Switch off the breaker, remove the filter and look into the sump with a flashlight. Use tongs or gloves for glass, never bare fingers. If the pump area is clear and LE returns, the motor and its control circuit are tested next, which is a job for a technician.
LG dishwasher top rack not cleaning
On LG models the middle spray arm takes its water through a docking port at the back of the upper rack. A rack sitting off its track, a blocked arm nozzle or a cracked feed tube leaves the top of the load dirty while the bottom is fine. Push the upper rack fully home, check both sides sit at the same height, and clear the nozzles with a toothpick. Tall bowls on the bottom rack can also block the arm. If the top still comes out dirty, the feed tube needs inspecting.
If the code comes back after these checks, our LG factory-trained technicians run the test cycle, pin down the failed part and replace it, in homes and condos across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

LG Dishwasher Repair FAQ
Why did my LG dishwasher show AE after switching detergent?
Because some detergents, particularly gels and liquids, foam more in soft water, and the suds spill into the base pan and lift the leak float. Run a rinse cycle, use a quality detergent at a lower dose and give the base time to dry. If the code returns with normal detergent, there's a real leak to find.
How often should the LG dishwasher filter be cleaned?
Monthly in a busy household, and sooner if you notice grit or food on clean dishes. The filter twists out from under the lower spray arm and rinses under the tap. A neglected filter is behind many drain codes and poor wash results.
Is it okay to keep using the dishwasher with an IE code?
Better not to. IE means the tub isn't filling in the expected time, which can come from a closed supply valve, a kinked hose, a clogged inlet screen or a failed inlet valve. Running repeated cycles without proper water can strain the pump and heater.
