Factory-trained technicians

The go-to technicians for LG ranges, cooktops & rangetops in BC

Our technicians are factory-trained on LG, so we know the platforms, diagnostics and service procedures, in warranty or out.

LG range repair in Canada covers freestanding and slide-in designs with gas, electric radiant and induction tops, including the premium LG Studio line. Many have ProBake Convection, which places a heating element at the back of the oven behind the fan, plus InstaView windows that light up with a knock, air fry modes and EasyClean, a short low-heat cleaning cycle that sits alongside traditional self-clean on many models. LG also makes gas and induction cooktops. Gas ovens rely on hot-surface igniters. Induction tops rely on power electronics and cooling fans hidden under the glass.

Our technicians are factory-trained on LG cooking, and all gas work is carried out by gas-certified technicians to BC code. We service induction ranges in Vancouver and Burnaby condos, gas slide-ins in family kitchens across Surrey, Langley and the Fraser Valley, and cooktops in Sea-to-Sky homes looked after by our Whistler-based team. Before quoting, we confirm the fault by testing igniter current, element and sensor resistance or induction error history. Remote and island properties are booked as scheduled trips, and work only starts once you approve the quote.

5 Most Common LG Range and Cooktop Issues and How to Fix Them

LG gas oven not heating

LG gas ovens light with a hot-surface igniter under the oven floor, and it weakens gradually. You'll still see it glowing, but it no longer draws the current needed to open the gas valve, so the oven stays cold or lights with a loud whoosh after a delay. A delayed, noisy ignition is a reason to stop using the oven until it's checked. Make sure the range has power and the control lock isn't set. The igniter and valve are for our gas-certified technicians. Smell gas? Get out and call FortisBC.

LG stove burner won't stop clicking

Continuous clicking on an LG gas cooktop usually traces back to water. A boil-over or a soaked sponge pushes moisture under the burner cap or onto the electrode, and the spark module keeps firing until it dries. Turn every knob off, take off the grate and cap once cool, and let the burner air-dry; reseat the cap so its tabs line up. Clicking that carries on with everything off points to a cracked electrode, a faulty switch or the module. A technician replaces those; nobody should rewire them at home.

LG oven baking unevenly

LG's ProBake Convection puts the heating element behind the rear fan, so the heat comes from the back instead of the floor. If cookies brown on one side or roasts take much longer than before, the convection fan motor, that rear element or the temperature sensor is usually responsible. Try another rack position, don't cover racks with foil, and check with an oven thermometer. A reading well off the set temperature, or a fan that stays silent in convection mode, needs testing. We compare cavity temperature to the setting first.

LG induction cooktop not working

An LG induction zone that won't start, flashes, or drops power mid-sear often comes down to the cookware. The base has to be magnetic and flat, so test it with a magnet, centre the pan and wipe the glass. If the pan is right, the next suspects live under the glass: a blocked or failed cooling fan, which makes the electronics throttle back, or a failed power board. Note any code on the display before you switch the breaker off, because that error history tells us where to start.

LG electric range burner stuck on high

On LG radiant smooth-tops, a zone that runs flat out whatever the setting, or one that never glows, usually has a failed control relay, switch or element. Dual and triple elements can also lose just one ring while the centre still heats. Make sure the cooktop lock is off and that you've picked the right ring size. If there's a crack anywhere in the glass, stop cooking on it. Each part is tested separately so only the faulty one gets replaced, and because those tests involve live circuits, they're a technician's job.

Burner still clicking or an induction zone still dead? Book a visit and an LG factory-trained technician will confirm the fault before quoting, then replace only the failed part, anywhere in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley or the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

LG Range and Cooktop Repair FAQ

Should I use EasyClean or the self-clean cycle on my LG range?

Use EasyClean for light, regular soil, since it runs at low heat for a short time with water. Save self-clean for heavier build-up and use it sparingly. Its very high temperatures put stress on the door lock, sensors and control, and many oven failures show up right after a self-clean.

Do you repair LG cooktops as well as full ranges?

Yes. We work on LG gas, induction and radiant electric cooktops, including built-in units in islands and counters. Gas cooktops are serviced by gas-certified technicians, and induction tops are diagnosed from their error history and power electronics.

My LG gas oven makes a loud whoosh when it lights. Is that a problem?

A soft whoosh is normal, but a loud bang or delayed ignition usually means the igniter is weak and gas is building up before it lights. Stop using the oven and book a repair. If you smell gas, turn the range off, leave the home and call FortisBC's emergency line from outside.
