Warranty-authorized service provider
The go-to technicians for GE ranges, cooktops & rangetops in BC
Fix Cheetah is authorized to perform GE manufacturer-warranty repairs, and we fix out-of-warranty GE appliances with the same training and genuine parts.
GE range repair can mean a Power Boil gas burner, an electric coil top or a GE Profile induction slide-in. GE ranges and stoves include gas, electric and induction models in freestanding and slide-in styles, along with separate cooktops. Many GE gas ranges have an edge-to-edge cooktop with continuous grates and a high-output Power Boil burner, while electric models use radiant elements or coils. GE Profile ranges add features such as no-preheat Air Fry, convection and induction cooking. Front-control slide-in models put the touch panel right beside the cooking surface, close to steam and spills. Each fuel type and control style fails in its own way.
Fix Cheetah is warranty-authorized for GE and repairs ranges and cooktops under eligible warranty and after coverage ends. Gas work is completed by gas-certified technicians to BC code. We test igniters, valves, elements, switches, sensors, convection systems and induction electronics, then quote before chargeable work, using genuine GE parts. Our Surrey team serves Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, our Whistler team covers Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton, and remote locations are served by scheduled trip.

5 Most Common GE Range Issues and How to Fix Them
GE gas oven not heating
Most GE gas ovens light with a hot-surface igniter, and it has to draw enough current to open the oven safety valve. As it ages it still glows orange, but the burner lights slowly, with a whoomph, or never at all. On models with a separate broil burner, broil working while bake doesn't points straight at the bake igniter. Check that the range has power and the clock is lit. Leave the igniter and valve alone. We measure current to confirm, and a gas smell means leaving and calling FortisBC.
GE range burner stuck on high
A radiant or coil burner that only runs flat out, or won't heat at all, usually has a failed infinite switch, which is the control behind its knob. On coil tops, a scorched terminal block or a loose element plug gives similar symptoms, sometimes with a burnt smell. With the breaker off and the coil cold, unplug it and look at its terminals; pitting or burn marks mean the receptacle needs replacing too. Never swap coils around on a live range. We test the switch, element and wiring together.
GE oven F7 error code
F7 on a GE range means the control has found a shorted key on the touchpad, and it locks out oven functions until that's fixed. Steam or cleaning spray seeping under the membrane, a cracked pad or a damaged ribbon cable are the usual causes. Front-control slide-ins see it more because the pad sits just above the cooktop. Switch the breaker off for five minutes and let the panel dry out. If F7 comes back, the touchpad or the control board needs replacing once we've tested which.
GE Profile induction cooktop not heating
GE Profile induction zones flash or show an error when a pan isn't suitable, the electronics overheat or a power module fails. Overheating is often a cooling fan problem, with the fan or its intake clogged by kitchen grease over time. Use a flat magnetic pan that fits the zone, try it on a second zone, and write down the exact code before you call. If zones keep cutting out with the right cookware, we test the cooling fan, the power module and the induction coils, then replace only what has failed.
GE gas range burner clicking but not lighting
If you hear spark but get no flame, start with the burner cap. On GE sealed burners the cap has to sit dead flat, and a cap nudged off-centre by a heavy continuous grate leaves the spark with no gas to light. Boil-overs on the Power Boil burner do the same by soaking the electrode. Once cool, lift the cap, wipe the base and electrode dry and reseat it. If one burner still won't light while others do, the electrode or switch is faulty. Smell gas? Leave and call FortisBC.
Our technicians test before they replace, fit genuine GE parts under warranty or as quoted paid work, and look after GE ranges from Vancouver and Surrey out to Chilliwack, Squamish and Whistler.

GE Range Repair FAQ
What do I need for a GE range warranty claim?
Have the model and serial number from the label behind the storage drawer or on the frame visible when the oven door is open, proof of purchase with the date and retailer, and whether it runs on natural gas or propane. As a warranty-authorized provider we confirm coverage with GE Appliances and quote anything outside it first.
Do you repair GE Profile induction ranges?
Yes. We repair GE Profile induction ranges and cooktops, including power modules, induction coils, cooling fans and touch controls, and we check that your cookware is induction-compatible as part of the diagnosis.
Can you convert a GE range to propane?
Our gas-certified technicians can install the correct manufacturer conversion kit where one is available for your model. Propane conversions are common in rural Fraser Valley and Sea-to-Sky homes without natural gas service.
