About Gorenje

Gorenje was founded in 1950 in the Slovenian village that gave it its name, and soon moved to the nearby town of Velenje, where it is still based. It started with farm machinery before turning to cookers and then a full range of household appliances. Gorenje bought the Swedish brand ASKO in 2010, and in 2018 the Chinese manufacturer Hisense took over Gorenje.

Gorenje is known in Europe for design-led appliances, including collaborations with outside designers and a retro collection of brightly coloured fridges. Its lineup spans refrigerators and freezers, washers, dryers including heat pump models, built-in ovens, cooktops, hoods and dishwashers.
