About Smeg

Smeg was founded in 1948 by Vittorio Bertazzoni in Guastalla, in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, and its name is an acronym of the original enamelling and metalworking business. The company is still run by the Bertazzoni family and based in Guastalla. It became internationally recognized for treating appliances as design objects, working with well-known architects and designers on its products.

Smeg's best-known product is the FAB retro-style refrigerator, introduced in the late 1990s and now offered in a wide palette of colours and finishes. Beyond its fridges, Smeg Canada sells freestanding ranges, built-in ovens including steam and speed models, gas and induction cooktops, range hoods, dishwashers, wine coolers, microwaves and laundry, along with small appliances such as kettles, toasters and espresso machines.
