About Thermador

Thermador was founded in Los Angeles in 1916 by William Cranston, originally making electric heaters before moving into cooking appliances. The company credits itself with introducing the built-in wall oven in 1947 and the built-in cooktop in 1950. Since 1998 Thermador has belonged to BSH Home Appliances, the Bosch-owned group that also makes Bosch and Gaggenau, where it is the group's American luxury brand.

Thermador's signature feature is the patented Star Burner, a five-pointed gas burner that spreads flame along a longer edge for more even heating across the pan. Its Canadian lineup covers professional-style and dual-fuel ranges, rangetops, gas and induction cooktops, wall ovens including steam and speed models, Freedom column refrigerators and wine columns, dishwashers, warming drawers, microwave drawers and ventilation hoods.
