About AEG

AEG stands for Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft, a company founded in Berlin in the 1880s by Emil Rathenau to bring electric lighting and power to Germany. In 1907 it hired architect Peter Behrens to shape its products, logo and factories, often cited as one of the first corporate design programs. AEG's household appliance business was acquired by Sweden's Electrolux in 1994, and Electrolux continues to develop appliances under the AEG name.
