About Magic Chef

Magic Chef's roots go back to the American Stove Company of St. Louis, which adopted the Magic Chef name for its gas ranges in 1929 and later renamed itself Magic Chef, Inc. Maytag bought the company in 1986, and the brand passed to Whirlpool with the Maytag acquisition in 2006. Today the Magic Chef name belongs to MC Appliance Corporation, part of CNA International.

Under its current owners, Magic Chef focuses on compact and value-priced appliances: mini and compact refrigerators, freezers, wine and beverage coolers, microwaves, compact laundry and retro-styled models. Distribution in Canada through Erikson Consumer began in 2024, starting with refrigerators and microwaves. Older Magic Chef ranges and refrigerators from the Maytag era can still be found in some BC homes.

The name is the same, but the ownership has changed several times. Older ranges and refrigerators were built under Magic Chef and later Maytag, while current products come from MC Appliance Corporation. We identify your unit by its model number.

Do you repair Magic Chef microwaves?
